In August, we have lots of memorial days of Japan:
Aug. 6: Atomic bombing to 広島(Hiroshima) by the USA; 140,000 civilians were killed/died within the year.
Aug.8: Soviet troops invaded Japanese territories incl. 樺太Karafuto and 千島Chishima, breaking Soviet–Japanese Neutrality Pact
Aug. 9: Atomic bombing to 長崎(Nagasaki) by the USA(see the picture below); over 70,000 civilians were killed/died within the year.
Aug.15: Surrender to the Allies of World War Ⅱ
